Why Ha Giang Loopers Pauses During Tet

We pause during the core Tet holiday because we are a local team before we are a tour company.

Our Easy Riders, guides, drivers, homestay partners, and support staff are not just “tour staff.” They are sons, daughters, parents, husbands, wives, neighbors, and members of local communities. They spend the year welcoming travelers, riding long mountain roads, carrying luggage, checking bikes, translating meals, solving problems, and helping guests feel safe in Ha Giang.

During Tet, it is their turn to go home.

They return to their families, clean the house, prepare food, visit relatives, honor ancestors, share meals, and celebrate the new year with the people who matter most to them. That time is not something we want to take away.

We are proud of this choice.

We are proud to build tourism in a way that respects local people, not only guests. We are proud to say that our team’s happiness matters. We are proud to support a style of travel where the people creating the experience are treated with dignity, rest, and care.

Good tourism should make guests happy without taking happiness away from the local people who make the journey possible.

We also pause because we do not want to offer a weaker version of the Ha Giang Loop. During Tet, many services are limited. Some restaurants close. Some homestays reduce staff. Buses are harder to arrange. Local logistics become less reliable. Holiday costs can increase.

If we cannot give guests the full support, safety, warmth, and quality they deserve, we prefer to wait.

After Tet, our team comes back rested, happy, and ready. That is when we can welcome guests properly — with real energy, real care, and the full Ha Giang Loopers experience.

If you want to visit Ha Giang near Tet, please do this:

  • Contact us early before booking buses or flights.
  • Ask for exact tour availability around your travel date.
  • Book early if traveling in peak season.
  • Expect limited services in some local villages.
  • Prepare warm layers for winter mountain weather.
  • Keep your schedule flexible in case transport, weather, or local services change.
